About ZAHID
I help Muslim students and graduates land graduate schemes and degree apprenticeships without compromising their Deen.
After university, I went through 21+ unsuccessful interviews. I blamed everything except the real issue: my interview game was poor. One conversation with an expert completely transformed how I prepared and performed.
Alhamdulillah, since then I’ve:
- Completed a 2‑year graduate scheme and continued my engineering career
- Had my Masters and leadership training in Diversity & Inclusion funded by my company
- Interviewed 60+ graduates and degree apprentices at assessment centres
- Presented career talks to over 20,000 students at universities across the UK
I know exactly what hiring managers look for in future graduates and apprentices – because I’ve sat on the other side of the table.
My Journey (Short Version)
I failed Maths at Warwick after A‑levels and spent years in low‑paid jobs: factories, call centres, warehouses. When I injured my knee and couldn’t keep doing manual work, I hit a wall. That pain forced me to admit: I was capable of more.
I went back to university, focused hard on getting experience, and took an unpaid internship two days a week while friends earned £20k on placements. They didn’t get why I worked for free. I knew it was a sacrifice I had to make.
I graduated with a First in Aerospace Engineering and a year of experience in renewable energy. I thought that was enough.
It wasn’t.
Out of 30 applications, I got 22 interviews and failed 21. I started thinking “it must be racism” instead of asking, “What am I doing wrong?”
My uncle reached out to an expert. In one call, he showed me exactly how to research companies properly and show genuine interest. I applied it to my next interview at JLR and got the graduate scheme offer.
That experience taught me a hard truth:
With the right guidance and mindset, your odds of success can change very quickly.
